The staff expect pupils to come to school wearing smart and reasonable formal clothes. School is important and the right clothing helps to shape attitudes and standards. To avoid accidents on the many steps in school children are asked to come in sensible footwear. The Governors would like to recommend the following clothing:
School Tartan Skirt OR grey school type trousers. White blouse/short sleeved cotton top with collar. Red School sweatshirt or red cardigan Plain Black School shoes (no high heels and NO TRAINERS).
Short or long grey school type trousers. White shirt/short sleeved cotton top with collar. Red School sweatshirt.
These pupils have the same uniform as above EXCEPT they have a BLUE sweatshirt.
School uniform and sweatshirts are available from Abbey Street Shopping Centre. Jeans are definitely regarded as being too informal, but may be worn on special occasions such as parties. We request that pupils do not wear track suits and football style t-shirts in lesson time.
It is recommended that all jewellery, including earrings and studs should be avoided. This request applies to both boys and girls. Owing to a number of accidents in Lancashire schools, the wearing of studs and earrings is forbidden in school especially during Physical Education and Swimming Instruction. The school would appreciate parental support on this issue.
For physical education it is important that children change into appropriate clothing;
Black Shorts and a plain white T-shirt Pair of pumps (not trainers please)
To avoid confusion, all items of clothing brought into school should be clearly marked with the child’s name. This should be brought into school in a draw up type bag (pump bag) which can be hung on their peg.
